Parish History[edit | edit source]

WELWICK (St. Mary), a parish, in the union of Patrington, S division of the wapentake of Holderness, East Riding of York, 2 miles SE by E from Patrington. The parish includes the hamlets of Weeton, Welwick-Thorpe, and Ploughland. There is a place of worship for Wesleyans. [1]

This ancient parish (AP) was created before 1813. Church of England records began in 1650.
