Reminder about Parish History Section[edit source]

This is taken from the FamilySearch_Wiki:WikiProject_English_parishes

This section should be written using multiple sources.

Add a general overview of the history of this parish. It can be a few sentences or a couple of paragraphs. If it is a few sentences put the expansion box in this section to encourage a more lengthy history.

If you don't like the way the FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject_English_parishes is organized then edit it. It don't make sense for everyone to have their own blueprint of how it is suppose to be. Everyone who contributes to the England parish pages should visit this page on a regular basis. Why don't we start creating original content rather than copying and pasting.

Mediation[edit source]

The following e-mail was sent to you on August 30, 2013.  I have received no response.  Please contact me as soon as possible so we can begin mediation.

Thank you so much for the work you are doing on the wiki England pages.

There has been a request made to open up mediation concerning some of the edits on those pages. In reviewing some of the edits, it seems that the information in question concerns the opening search engine optimization paragraph, some information contained in the parish history paragraph, as well as information contained in the navigation bar.

I am asking that everyone please share with me their issues with these areas? We would like to help get everyone on the same page so we aren't duplicating work, and hopefully by opening a dialogue we can come to a resolution that works for everyone.

Again, thank you so much for all of the work you have put into the wiki. It is a community project and we want to be sure all voices are heard.

Feel free to e-mail me directly at

Thank you,

Lancashire Pages[edit source]

3Plaitt, You have removed another SEO paragraph without discussing your reasons for doing so Aldingham, Lancashire Genealogy. Murphynw 20:50, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Surrey Pages[edit source]

I'm trying to understand why you have deleted information I am adding to Surrey parish pages.

  1. Navigation boxes at the bottom of the page help users move through the Wiki -- Why are you removing them? They are a standard feature in Wikipedia.
  2. SEO intro paragraphs at the top of the page help the pages rank high in Google search results. It makes it harder for people to find these pages if they do not rank high in Google.

If you have any questions about why these features are necessary, please contact me. In the meantime, I will be restoring them. Murphynw 05:01, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Farleigh Surrey page[edit source]

Hi, I notice you're doing some editing on this page. Would you take a look at the Talk page and see if there is information on the page that needs to be referenced to avoid the copyright question? Thanks! averyld 22:26, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
