Add Links[edit source]
Many of the pages on the Research Wiki need internal links added, inter-linking them to one another. As you contribute information to the various types of pages, watch for those needed links and add them.
Add Content to Tribal Pages[edit source]
Images[edit source]
Images should be found, uploaded, and added to the tribal pages. Status Report
Brief Timelines[edit source]
On each tribal page, we want to provide the user with a brief timeline of the events experienced by the tribe which affected the records kept, the jurisdictions involved in recording those events, and the locations of records today. This should be a synopsis of the events covered in the history, as noted below. Of particular interest would be dates of first non-Indian contact, treaties, when confined to a reservation, migrations, and the ratification of the tribe's constitution.
Brief Histories[edit source]
On each tribal page, we want to provide the user with a brief history of the tribe, written in prose style (not outline format). This should be no longer than 3-5 paragraphs, covering only the important events of the tribe's history. The events that should be included are such things as the signing of treaties, the removal (movement) of a tribe to a new location, their placement on a reservation, establishment of tribal government, church missions established for the tribe, etc.
Reservations[edit source]
This section of the tribal page should identify the name of the reservation(s) to which the tribe was assigned, the years they resided on that reservation, and its location.
Additional References to the History of the Tribe[edit source]
This section is intended to lead Wiki users to other sources that would provide a more detailed history of the tribe. Some of the standard references which should be included here are Hodge's Handbook of American Indians North of Mexico, Swanton's Indians of North America, and others. If the tribe has a history section of their Official Tribal Website, a link to that page should be included.
