Parish History[edit | edit source]

'STANWELL St. Mary, a parish, in the union of Staines, hundred of Spelthorne, County of Middlesex, 2¾ miles northeast by north of Staines; it comprises also a part of Colnbrook chapelry. There is a place of worship for Independents.'[1]


The Victoria County History of Stanwell (1962) is available online. It includes a history of land ownership, manors, estates, mills, economic and social history, local government, church, nonconformity, schools, and charities.[2]
