Parish History[edit | edit source]

Nottingham St Thomas was formed as a district Church by the Ecclesiastical Commissioners in July 1874 after protracted disagreement about its boundary which was formed partly from the parish of Nottingham St Matthew, Talbot Street, Nottinghamshire, partly from Nottingham St Nicholas, Nottinghamshire and partly from Nottingham St Nicholas, Nottinghamshire The building was acquired by the Church Commissioners and was formerly the Wesleyan Congregational Free Church.

Upon eventual closure as a parish in 1926  St Thomas’ was made a Chapel of Ease in the parish of Nottingham St Matthew, Talbot Street, Nottinghamshire. It closed soon afterwards and was demolished in 1930-31.
