Why Should I Look at This Collection?[edit | edit source]
These records are prisoner records (fangeprotokoll) from the Akershus festnings slaveri og arbeidsanstalt. If you suspect your ancestor was incarcerated for an offense they may be listed in this collection. The records provide personal details about the individual and list any other offenses and punishment.
The original records are housed at the National and Regional Archives facility in Sogensvann. The record classification is SAO/A-10691/K/Ka/L0018.
What is in This Collection?[edit | edit source]
Persons incarcerated in this facility were not limited to the Oslo area. People from all over the country may have been sentenced here. However, most of the people found in this record are from eastern Norway.
Image Visibility[edit | edit source]
Whenever possible FamilySearch makes images and indexes available for all users. However, rights to view these data are limited by contract and subject to change. Because of this there may be limitations on where and how images and indexes are available or who can see them. Please be aware some collections consist only of partial information indexed from the records and do not contain any images.
