Lower Walmer St Saviour

Parish History[edit | edit source]

Lower Walmer St Saviour is an Ecclesiastical parish created from the Ancient Parish of Walmer, Kent in order to relieve pressure on the medieval pressure with the growth of the town.

The church was built in 1848 as a chapel of ease on the seafront for the boatmen and their families

Architecturally it was the inspiration for the lifeboat building which was built in 1871
