The book scanner is for bound books and it scans the open book from above.
If you can take the binding apart, your best results will be on the document scanners which are not reserved - first-come, first-served.

Photo Scanner
A large flatbed scanner is attached to a high-speed batch photo scanner. They convert photos and documents to digital images. A single one-hour-and-forty-five-minute session per day may be reserved.
Bring a USB drive with at least 8Gb of available space per session. [3.0 USB drive is strongly recommended].
You will next be asked to select your desired location - Main Area or near Children's Area.

Slide Scanner
Slide scanners convert slides to digital images. A single one-hour-and-forty-five-minute session per day may be reserved.

Video Tape Conversion
This equipment converts VHS/Compact VHS tapes to MP4 digital files. One two-hour-and-fifteen-minute session per day and two sessions per week may be reserved.
Bring an external USB drive with at least 16Gb of available space per session. [3.0 USB drive is strongly recommended]

Discovery Center
Ten large touch screens help guests of all ages discover their families. Reservations for 6 to 15 people may be made. Up to three reservations per hour may be made if there are slots available. The center can accommodate up to 45 guests per hour.
Set up FamilySearch accounts for everyone before coming - bring username and password with you.

Classroom
A classroom with 24 computers may be reserved for 45 minutes by church, family, community, or other groups wishing to work on or learn about family history.
Groups are to provide their own instructors. DO NOT assume we will provide an instructor without previous specific arrangements.
Professional assistance to operate the classroom equipment will be provided by the center.
