The following Scanners/Converter must be scheduled
Czur Aura Book Scanner[edit | edit source]
The Czur Book Scanner provides innovative AI Technology for enhanced scanning performance. It will scan all types of documents but is best suited for bound books. Its revolutionary "Book Curve Flattening" technology minimizes damage to the binding while scanning. This technology uses three precise laser lines for incredible scanning accuracy and image clarity. It uses a 14 megapixel camera for superb image quality.
Typically, the final output will be a multi-page PDF document, but the Optical Character Recognition software can convert captured JPG images with typed text into editable Word, Excel or searchable PDF formats.
The software can auto-detect page turns to trigger the scan automatically or a convenient foot pedal can be used to control the triggering of the next scan while keeping your hands free.
Image corrections/adjustments can be made to your scanned images before the final output is created.
NOTE: If the book binding can be removed (spiral, ring, screw, etc.) you will have best results by scanning the pages on our document scanner. This scanner is not reserved. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Video Tape Conversion[edit | edit source]
Video Tape Conversion Room
Equipment is provided to capture, in real-time, the video from full-size VHS and Compact VHS (VHS-C) tapes. The captured video files will be in .mpg and .mp4 formats and will be transferred to the patron's personal USB drive to take home. A two-hour video will need about 8G of USB storage for the .mpg format and 2G for the .mp4 format. Other video tape formats can also be captured with the patron's video camera/player and the cables to connect to a TV set (RCA cables (yellow, red, white) or S-Video cable).
The video tape can be split into smaller topic-based segments during the conversion - birthday party, vacation, graduation, etc.
The result is small subject-based videos that can be uploaded to Social Media (Facebook), loaded on a phone, or easily shared with family & friends.
While the digital video files will provide the best option to play and share video memories, a DVD can be created during the conversion if needed. Please bring blank DVD discs (DVD+R or DVD-R types). Recommended brands are Verbatim DVR+R or DVD-R 8x, Maxwell DVD+R 4x/8x/16x or DVD-R 8x/16x, Sony DVD+R 4x/8x/16x, TDK DVD+R 4x/8x/16x.
