Jones County, Nebraska was formed 23 Nov 1854 from non-county area. Then in 16 Mar 1855 this county was redefined and lost to creation of Clay County, Jackson County, Johnston County, Saline County, and York County. Jones County was eliminated on 18 Feb 1867and lost all territory to Jefferson_County. [1]
