History
Holmön parish was broken out of Umeå county parish as chapel parish 1802. On August 24, 1923, the parish was considered an annex parish.
The parish was part of a pastorate with Umeå county parish (mother parish) 1802-1834 and from 1835 be part of a pastorate with Sävars parish (mother parish).
The parishes of Holmön and Sävar were part of a church community that was added in 1933 and which from 1977 also included a common economy. The documents of the church community are recorded in Sävar's church archives.
