Historical Facts[edit | edit source]

Large numbers of Kentuckians settled in frontier Henderson County, Illinois. The name of the county (Henderson) is reminiscent of Henderson County, Kentucky - the previous residence of many pioneer settlers.[2]

Description[edit | edit source]

The county was named for the Henderson River. The county seat is Oquawka and the county was organized on 1841. The County is located in the Western part of the state.[3]
