Harlem, Kennebec County, Maine Genealogy

Harlem is an extinct town, now part of China, Maine. Harlem was organized as a town from Winslow formerly Lincoln County (now Kennebec County) in 1796. Part of Harlem was annexed to China in 1818, and the remainder was annexed in 1822.[1]

County. Kennebec County was set off from Lincoln County in 1799.

Records. The original town and vital records of Harlem 1796-1822 are preserved in China, Maine. A microfilm copy is available from the Family History Library (Salt Lake City) on FHL film 0010621.
