Flagstaff Plantation

Flagstaff (also known as Flag Staff) is a former plantation, now an unorganized territory (township) in the Northwest Somerset townships of Somerset County, Maine. Flagstaff Plantation was organized from Township 4 R4 BKP WKR in 1851, 1865, 1870, and 1895.[1] The plantation organization was surrendered in 1951, and since then it has been an unorganized territory. The original settlement was submerged after 1950 by an enlarged lake after the Dead River was dammed.[2] [3]
