Desert County, Nevada Genealogy
Desert County, Utah was created 3 March 1852 as an original county of Utah Territory. She extended into present-day Nevada from the shore of the Great Salt Lake on the east to the western edge of the Great Basin in California, United States Genealogy at first between Weber and Tooele counties. Desert County was reduced in size to the current western Utah, United States Genealogy border by carving out three new counties: Carson, Humboldt, and Saint Mary's County (now Nevada, United States Genealogy) on 5 January 1856. Desert County was extinguished 17 January 1862 and her remaining land was split between Box Elder and Tooele counties.
