Blackburn is a market town parish 30 miles south east of Lancaster and 24 miles north, northwest of Manchester.

The following township chapelries comprised Blackburn Parish boundaries and should be given earnest consideration when researching the records of this township and ancient parish. If your ancestor said or stated "Blackburn" as the parish of birth, they were likely correct!
