Attendance: Robin, Giuseppi, Caleb, Barb, Diana, Jim L., LaVera, Linda, Marilyn

Welcome[edit | edit source]

New Attendees: Sister Sandra Kennedy will be listening to our recording starting this week. She working most of the week.

Kudos go to: Myra for the great new pages she is creating. Also to all who are bring the Uncategorized files number to such low levels. To Jim Landucci from Diana and Linda - what he does teaches us so much. We learn while patrolling, etc.

Follow-up and Priority items for this meeting:[edit | edit source]

  • Followup: Red links on state pages - Where are we on this? (Barbara/LaVera/Diana/Myra)
Barb had taken some personal time after assignment, LaVera had worked some with Myra discussing where needs were. LaVera's worked with some Georgia pages, Diana had reported Calif and Colorado are done now (reported at 9am meeting). We find pages to develop from the red links themselves.
Discussion regarding an email the Gius. had received - complaint that we were creating city/town pages - Robin told of Sandra's project to get county seat pages developed.

This led to a short item ( for next week's followup)- There might be a redefining of the role of Community Council and the Support role - perhaps by creating a Governance Council. Lise, Danielle, Caleb, and Gius. will be meeting prior to next week's meeting. Gius. to send Robin a copy of the email. Part of the issue is that the Community Council wants more input with Support. There is a balance between maintenance and adding content that needs to be discussed.

  • Followup: Drop down menu for image upload page (new copyright choice) - awaiting answer (Caleb asked engineers)

Still, no answer

  • Followup: Jim's screenshot question sent to legal. Any answer yet?

None from within FamilySearch. Online answer - seems to be okay if in a positive light. This might vary by company. FS is definitely good. Wikipedia should be as well. Anything showing how to use a tool, such as photoshop should not have issues either. - The likely Familysearch official answer is avoid any legal problems.

Suggestions for Other Focus Projects[edit | edit source]

  • External links (count is 1471 on 5/31/14)

Supervisor Input[edit | edit source]

  • Giuseppe: Danielle is being pulled to international wiki - so we might have to take over some of what she was working on for the main page.
Linda (and Jim's) new round hub design - was asked at the Tuesday lead meeting to go live - which it did as FamilySearch Wiki:Support Tool Box as well as it's parent page FamilySearch Wiki:EasyAccessSeries Wiki Support Fundamentals . Also discussed was the page developed with Robin's information, found at User:Lindachappell/Sandbox3 (This page would be a child of the Tool Box page.)
The title is lengthy, - with the thought process being that the information was elsewhere on the wiki, but these pages were compilations of similar information for each page.
The fundamentals page pulled it's information from FamilySearch Wiki:Wiki Support and Giuseppe suggested that we just move the information from the Fundamentals page to The Wiki Support page. (Jim L. suggested moving the current Wiki Support info to a sandbox page for safekeeping - noting, it will also be available in the history section of the page.)
  • Caleb: Made comment of needing to deal with a problem with the community that has taken his focus off the project page.

Team Leads[edit | edit source]

  • Mission and Technical Lead - Charles
  • Training and Maintenance - Sandra

We did NOT have time to discuss this

  • Community Lead/New Contributors- Robin

Please do not go to Illinois page for the next few weeks unnecessarily. The Content team would like to get a good feel for how many times the page is truly accessed.
