Clarke County is located in the Northern portion of the Commonwealth of Virginia and included in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Clarke County was named for revolutionary war hero, George Rogers Clark[1].

The county was named after George Rogers Clark (1751-1818), a prominent military officer in the Revolutionary War.[4]
