Bosbury Holy Trinity

Parish History[edit | edit source]

Bosbury is a village and civil parish about five miles north of Ledbury.

Holy Trinity church is an Ancient Parish which included Upleadon and Catley.

Bosbury is within the largest 19th century hop growing region outside Kent  although in the late 20th century the area declined in this business and many hop yards and oasts were dismantled.

Bosbury was the site of the palace of the mediaeval bishops of Hereford and the palace reamins are found near the church at Old Court Farm.

The Knights Templar presence at the present Prior's Court farm is also indicated by the Templar grave within the church.
