Bengkulu is located on the southwest coast of Sumatra. It covers an area of 19,919.33 km2 (7,690.90 sq mi). Bengkulu City is its capital. Bengkulu has many natural resources such as gold and coal. Bengkulu's population includes various indigenous ethnic groups , such as Rejangs, Javanese, Lemak, Serawai, Pekal, Enggano, Pasemah, Minangkabau and Malays. Other non-indigenous ethnic groups include Sudanese, Javanese, Acehese, Madurese, Batak, Chinese and others.
