1st Regiment, Connecticut Infantry
Brief History[edit | edit source]
The 1st Regiment was organized at Hartford, Connecticut and mustered in April 22, 1861. The regiment was mustered out of service at New Haven, July 31, 1861.

Companies in the 1st Infantry Regiment[edit | edit source]
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. Theis regiment was composed of men from all parts of Connecticut, but the majority of men in each unit resided in the following counties:
Infantry Company A - Hartford and New Haven Counties
Infantry Company B - Hartford and New Haven Counties
Infantry Company C - Hartford County
Infantry Company D - New Haven County
Infantry Company E - Fairfield County
