West Sulawesi (Indonesia: Sulawesi Barat) is located in the western part of the Sulawesi island. It covers an area of 16,937.16 km2 (6,539.47 sq mi). Mamuju is the capital. Ethnic groups include Mandar, Buginese, Mamasa, mamuju, Javanese, Kaili, Pattae', Makassarese and others.
