Parish History[edit | edit source]
WESTHIDE, a parish, in the hundred of Radlow, union and county of Hereford, 5½ miles (N. E. by E.) from Hereford. The parish is situated on the road from Hereford to Bromyard. The church is in the early English style, and contains some monuments to the Monningtons. [1]
Westhide (sometimes spelled West Hide in certain records) is a village and civil parish in Herefordshire.
Westhide St Bartholomew was originally formed as a chapelry of Stoke Edith, Herefordshire Genealogy and dates from the late 12th century and 14th century.
An inscribed slab memorial for Richard Monyngton who died in 1524 and his wife Alice with 8 sons and 8 daughters is notable.
The church of St Bartholomew is the Ancient Parish Church and has been graded as a grade I listed building British listed building
