Parish History[edit | edit source]
BRIDGFORD, WEST (St. Giles), a parish, in the union of Basford, partly in the S. division of the wapentake of Bingham, but chiefly in the N. division of the wapentake of Rushcliffe, S. division of the county of Nottingham, 2 miles (S. S. E.) from Nottingham. At each of the hamlets of Basingfield and Gampston is a place called Chapel Yard, the supposed site of a chapel.[1]
