Church Records[edit | edit source]
Microfilm of parish registers available at the Family History Library for Voss clerical district) contains the parish registers for Voss parish with Raundal chapel in Voss clerical district with Taugevand parish 1900-1939. Included Vinje and Uppheim (Opeim) until 1866 when these parishes became part of the new Vossestrand clerical district; and Evanger parish with Nesheim chapel until 1891 when it became the main parish in Evanger clerical district. Records from 1855 and later for Evanger parish have been kept with Evanger clerical district. Records available from 1711-1931.

Kindem, Lars O. (Lars Olson), 1856-1938: Vossaboki contains farm- and family history from Voss "herred" in Norway. The information in the books is based on church books, estate inventories and other legal documents. Vossaboki consists of four books, written in Norwegian ("Nynorska") by Lars Kindem. They were published by "Voss Bygdeboknemnd" 1933-1938. These books are frequently used by genealogists.
