Linking Style[edit source]
Hi User:Terrydm1,
On Wiki page "Afro-American Historical Association of Fauquier County" we noticed that a few of your links are incorrectly formatted. Links should not display the full URL.
Please refer to Wiki article FamilySearch Wiki-Linking which we use as a standard for additions and changes to Wiki article links. For "HOW TO" code links, please refer to instructions at Help:Wiki University Wikitext--Links.
Your assistance in making the appropriate corrections is greatly appreciated.

Will do. Thank you.
For Wonghk3: Wiki link problem[edit source]
Hello, you notified me that the external links on the Affiliate Library page for the Afro-American Historical Association of Fauquier County needed to be put in the proper format. I re-did the links, but the only way I could get the "link" box to accept the changes was as is now displayed on the page, and it still shows the full URL. Sorry, but I couldn't get it to accept the links without spelling out the URLs. What now?
You can also reach me at donald.terry@familysearch.org if you want.
Thanks
Don Terry

Hi Donald...
I noticed that you are using visual editor to add your links. Here are the steps you can use to Link text to a URL using Visual Editor:
- (1) go to the article or page where you want to make changes and open your visual editor by clicking the Edit tab
- (2) enter the text Link to Website where you want it on the page
- (3) using your mouse, highlight this text, then press the chain link icon
- (4) select the External link tab
- (5) copy the URL from the page you want to go to into the URL box, then click Done
- (5) copy the URL from the page you want to go to into the URL box, then click Done
You can do the same with your Directions/Parking Map, by entering the text Link to Directions/Parking Map, highlight that text, and link the desired URL to it.
Note: You can even enter that really long Google Map URL you originally had there.
Here is additional documentation that might help you: Help:Wiki University VisualEditor--Links
Hope these instructions are helpful. Let me know how it goes.

Affiliate Library Wiki: moving the listing to its proper place[edit source]
I created a Wiki page for the Afro-American Historical Association of Fauquier County but it shows up at the very bottom of the US section unless I categorize the listings by state, in which case it shows up at the bottom of the list for Virginia, even though it starts with "A." How do I move it to its proper alphabetical place on the Wiki page? I thought the entire row would shift to the correct place once I saved it, but no luck...

Thank you for all you are doing on the Wiki! We appreciate our users!
The list can be alphabetized by clicking the double arrow on the Library tab. I did go in, though, and place your listing alphabetically within the list for you.
