Missing regiments[edit source]

I find it odd only one regiment is listed for New York (Manhattan) County.

Military recruitment - mentioned more than 150,000 troops, not counting the tens of thousands called up for emergencies.

There were quite numerous of them, a few named:

- New York Fire Zouves (11th Regiment)
- 127th Regiment aka "The Monitors"
- 1st U.S. Sharpshooters
- 9th New York (Hawkin's Zouves)
- 10th New York (National Guard Zouves)
- Anderson Zouves
- Excelsior Brigade

This site has very good information on all regiments formed in counties, even at city level. Dornbusch Index. Dsammy 16:19, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks from the Wiki:[edit source]

The FamilySearch Research Wiki is delighted to let you know that the “Native Americans in the Civil War” page you helped create was a Featured Article, highlighted on the Main Page of the Wiki 8/9/11, and remained there for seven days. Thank you for your excellent work to help others quickly access records. Your contributions are appreciated and have assisted others in finding their ancestors.
You have made a difference in research!

Sandboxes in the main namespace[edit source]

Hi Marilyn, I've noticed that you've recently created a series of sandboxes User:MarkhamMJ/Sandbox:Blair, User:MarkhamMJ/Sandbox:Evans, User:Glendamarjean/Sandbox:Peterson, User:MarkhamMJ/Sandbox:Jacobson, User:MarkhamMJ/Sandbox:Markham, User:AftonBartlett/Sandbox:Bartlett, User:BechtolKB /Sandbox:Bechtol, User:MarkhamMJ/Sandbox:Eccles & Sandbox:Hill). The best places for these are as subpages to either a userspage or a project page (if they relate to a specific project).

The reason why they should not be left in the where they are is because any article created in the FamilySearch Wiki:Main namespace, the contents of these pages will show up in default searches. If you would like some moving them, please let me know. --Steve (talk| contribs) 16:41, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Renaming pages
[edit source]

Please be sure to rename them (the Civil War sandboxes) to something other than sandboxes, then, if they are going to be part of the project pages? Since we want all of the sandboxes to be in the user namespace. Thanks so much!!  Sandralpond 14:23, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

So sorry I was wrong the sandboxes need to be on User namespaces only. This page will help to show the decision. Sandbox in  User namespace and Hope this helps.  Again thanks. Sandralpond 16:23, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Update on renameing pages
[edit source]

I just found out all is need is to leave out the word sandboxes when you move the sandbox pages and the problem will be solves. Your work is so wonderful.  I have much to benfit from the Civil War pages, as my family on all but one line comes through it with families being in West Virginia and Missouri and many being in major battles of the war and one even doing a bust of Lincoln that is still in the White House.  Thank you for all you do!!! Headings on County Pages for Utah[edit source]

Hi MarkhamMJ,

We appreciate the discussions and decisions made by a community of experts and interested parties regarding headings on the county pages especially for New York and Illinois, We want to adopt many of those changes and adapt some specifically for Utah. Will you please review the page for FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject Utah County Headings county headings in Utah and make comments on its discussion page?

Some volunteers for WikiProject Utah have already begun adapting the county pages. Your great suggestions will be implemented later, and we need to move now to prepare for a big push in January 2012.

Making your comments on the discussion page will allow for transparency, progress and improvement.

Thank you Wilma Adkins, WikiProject Utah manager; Marilyn Markham and Patsy Hendrickson, content specialists; and Dawne Hole and (Joy) Wyzer17, communications and volunteers liaisons.

Georgia (state) County Maps[edit source]

I noticed that you uploaded all of the maps for the different counties in Georgia (state).  However, there are six counties that have not been uploaded and they are Mitchell, Towns, Hancock, Bacon, Dooly and Emanuel.  Would it be possible for you to upload these so they can be added to the county pages?  Thanks Elder Knox 17:15, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
