Step 3: Find a probate record for the ancestor's parents[edit | edit source]

The image of the will may not be tied to the online index. In this situation do a key word search in the Family History Library Catalog for the name of the probate court listed in the index. Most English probate records are available on microfilm through the Family History Library.
