Tanner Blair Tolman, AG®[edit | edit source]
Tanner Blair Tolman is accredited through the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGen) for research in the Denmark Region. He has a deep passion for Danish genealogy and has worked to deepen his knowledge of the different records available. Through this, he has discovered obscure records that have made it possible to extend lines that were previously considered dead ends. He is a research consultant at the Family History Library on the Nordic team.

After completing a second internship, he was hired on full time by FamilySearch. He helps guests discover gather and connect their Nordic ancestors.
- Paid Intern – Scandinavian Research Specialist-05/2018 to 12/2018
Paid Intern on Floor B1 of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. After accrediting, Tanner returned to the Family History Library for a second internship, this time for compensation and with more hours. He again assisted guests as a research specialist, but also worked hard to deepen his knowledge of Scandinavia, its records, and history. Among other things, Tanner wrote a class on Danish emigration records, learned how to use Swedish and Norwegian probate and tax records, learned the basics of Finnish research, and read the 1683 Civil Code of Christian V. He also worked on the Community team by assisting guests online and writing Facebook posts to help advertise the library.
- Unpaid Intern – Scandinavian Research Specialist-04/2017 to 08/2017
Intern on Floor B1 of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah for college credit. Tanner assisted guests as a research specialist with Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian research. He also prepared a one-hour webinar class called, “Painting a Picture of Your Danish Ancestors,” about Danish fire insurance, tax, and land records and taught it twice. This internship was 9-5 Mondays and Wednesdays for four months.
