Raeone Steuart was born in Preston, Idaho, grew up in Mink Creek, Idaho, and has made her home in Bountiful, Utah. She graduated from BYU in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Genealogy Technology with a Norwegian minor. She served a mission in Norway 1965-1967. She is an accredited researcher for Norway and has done client research in the Scandinavian countries. She worked as a Scandinavian Research Consultant at the Family History Library for ten years and is currently an online instructor for Family History at BYU-Idaho.
She, with her husband, started the business "American Genealogical Lending Library" in 1983, which grew and became "Heritage Quest" after the acquisition of a magazine by that name. Heritage Quest was a pioneer in digitizing microfilm and linking indexes to the images. Many have appreciated the fine work done with census indexes. That data is now available at Ancestry in the Heritage Quest collection. After her retirement in 2002 from the business, she has been a Church Service Missionary prior to taking a temporary position at the Family History Library.
She is the mother of eight children and 30 grandchildren.
