Parish History[edit | edit source]
WALTHAM, UP, (St. Mary the Virgin), a parish, in the union of West Hampnett, hundred of Box and Stockbridge, rape of Chichester, W. division of Sussex, 6 miles (S. S. W.) from Petworth. It forms a portion of the South Downs, and comprises about 2000 acres. The church is in the early English style, with a circular east end.[1]
