THORP-ACRE, a parish, in the union of Loughborough, hundred of West Goscote, N. division of the county of Leicester, 1¼ mile (W. N. W.) from Loughborough. [1]
Thorpe Acre All Saints with Dishley is an Ecclesiastical Parish in the county of Leicestershire, created in 1850 from Dishley, Leicestershire Genealogy Ancient Parish.
All Saints Church, Thorpe Acre with Dishley, was built in 1845 and extended in 1968. Dishley Church is now a ruin on the Derby Road, Loughborough. Robert Bakewell (1726–1795), the agriculturalist, is buried there.
