Parish history contains copyright British History Online textwhich is not attributed

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. However, can you point out the specific information that is copyrighted? It is difficult to fix the material without knowing specifically what is copyrighted.

It appears that the referenced section of this article was directly copied from A Topographical Dictionary of England, Samuel Lewis (editor) (1848), Seventh edition. Contains detailed topographical accounts of places, parishes and counties in England. Originally published in four volumes, here given together.  The webside is British History Online.   UK copyright actually can extend back to the 1800s
Would someone be willing to re-write the section so that it is not using directly copied material and cite it correctly? Lynda 17:45, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

The duration of copyright in the UK is governed by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. For books the duration is seventy years from the death of the author. (see also UKCS FAQ) --Steve (talk| contribs) 14:08, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
