Online Books[edit source]

I feel like online books are acceptable in this list. Perhaps I should have asked first. RaymondRS 16:01, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

Links to FamilySearch Books[edit source]

Linking to FamilySearch books is problematic. They are currently hosted by the Church History Department, but that is expected to change, breaking all current URLs to the books. Linking to the FHL catalog seemed to be a safer method since the catalog links to the books. If the URLs break, then the cataloging team will go through the catalog and fix all the links. Early members of the Reorganized Church[edit source]

For the Early members of the Reorganized Church books, I have chosen to link to title number rather than the call number. The decision was based partly on the fact that the title consists of multiple volumes, each with its own call number. It is partly based on the desire to remove an extra click in the user experience, since an extra click has already been introduced in linking through the catalog rather than direct to the book. And it is partly based on the belief that title numbers are persistent, as I've explained in the talk page for the FHL template. RaymondRS 16:01, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

World Vital Records vs. MyHeritage[edit source]

Because MyHeritage purchased World Vital Records, "Membership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1830 - 1848" is now available on MyHeritage. Since members of the church can have free access to MyHeritage, but not World Vital Records, perhaps this title should be changed to point to MyHeritage. Thoughts? RaymondRS 16:10, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
