Brief History[edit | edit source]

Stoneham was made a town from part of Fryeburg Academy Grant Plantation and part of Batchelder's Grant Plantation in 1843. In 1851 Stoneham changed its name to Usher, but changed it back again in 1853.<ref>Stoneham, Oxford County, Maine in Maine Genealogy (accessed 5 November 2013).</ref
