St Peter ad Vincula (within the Tower of London), the church of, is situated within the Tower of London, at the northwest corner of Northumber Walk, near New Armoury. It is dedicated to St. Peter, when in chains or bonds, and was built and founded by Edward I. It is a plain, Gothic building, 65 feet in length, 54 in breadth, and 24 feet high. The advowson is a rectory in the city, diocese and archdeaconry of London, exempt from archiepiscopal jurisdiction, and in the gift of the Crown.
