- Schwende Catholic: Kirchenbuch, 1768-1908. The chapel in Schwende belonged to the parish of St. Mauritius in Appenzell. In 1768, it obtained the right to baptize children; marriages and burials still occurred at St. Mauritius. In 1914, it was established as an independent parish.
