  • In 1805, due to the growth of the population, Bishop Benito Lue y Riega, expressed the need to create a parish and on May 31, 1806 the Curate of "San Cosme de las Ensenadas" was created.
  • The department of San Cosme has a population of approximately 14,000. [1]
