History[edit | edit source]

Sønder Bjerre is annexed to Ørslev. On 22 June 1821 Ørslev suffered a fire which destroyed all earlier parish records. After the fire, the priest made every effort to reconstruct the lost records. He interviewed parishioners in his parish and used the military tilgangslister among other resources in order to recreate the records for Sønder Bjerge as far back as 1761 and the Ørslev ones as far back as 1751. While his efforts are invaluable for genealogists, caution should be taken while using them as there may be many things that are missing or incorrect.
