1775: Tribe encountered a Spanish Vessel anchored offshore
1805: Lewis and Clark Expedition
1820's: Non-Indian trappers and traders entered the area
1840: Sever famine
1855 July 1,
1856: Quinault River Treaty - 10,000 acres reservation near Taholah
1883: School established for the Quileute at La Push
1889: Reservation established at La Push
1893: Reservation established on the Hoh River
1895: Indian Shaker religion spread throughout the area

Reservation is a tract of land set aside for the occupation and use by Native Americans.

Records[edit | edit source]
The majority of records of individuals were those created by the agencies. Some records may be available to tribal members through the tribal headquarters.They were (and are) the local office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and were charged with maintaining records of the activities of those under their responsibility. Among these records are:
