PRESTWOLD (St. Andrew), a parish, in the union of Loughborough, hundred of East Goscote, N. division of the county of Leicester, 2½ miles (E. N. E.) from Loughborough. There is a chapel of ease at Hoton.
In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson, Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Prestwold like this:
PRESTWOLD, a township and a parish in Loughborough district, Leicester. The township lies on an affluent of the river Soar, near the boundary with Notts, 2½ miles E N E of Loughborough r. station. There are two Wesleyan chapels.
