Portsea (St. Johns) church, erected in the year 1776, is in the modern style. A second church was built in 1840, at an expense of £2315, at Fortune's Well, it is dedicated to St. John, and is a neat structure in the later English style. There are places of worship for Independents and Wesleyans..
