Why Should I Look at This Collection?[edit | edit source]

If you had family living in the cities of Aker or Oslo during this time period, any births or stillbirths of children to this family would have been reported to the health department. Many births were attended by midwives and not in hospitals.

What is in This Collection?[edit | edit source]

This collection consists of births and stillbirths for the municipalities of Aker and Oslo for the years 1832 to 1954. On 1 January 1948 Aker was incorporated into the city of Oslo.

Image Visibility[edit | edit source]

Whenever possible FamilySearch makes images and indexes available for all users. However, rights to view these data are limited by contract and subject to change. Because of this there may be limitations on where and how images and indexes are available or who can see them. Please be aware some collections consist only of partial information indexed from the records and do not contain any images.

For additional information about image restrictions see Restrictions for Viewing Images in FamilySearch Historical Record Collections.
