NEWBALD (St. Nicholas), a parish, in the union of Beverley, Hunsley-Beacon division of the wapentake of Harthill, East Riding of York; containing the township of North Newbald, 4 miles SE from Market-Weighton. Here are places of worship for Wesleyans and Primitive Methodists. 
This ancient parish (AP) was created before 1813. Church of England records began in 1600.
