NORMANTON-UPON-TRENT (St. Matthew), a parish, in the union of East Retford, N. division of the wapentake of Thurgarton, S. division of the county of Nottingham, 3¾ miles (E. S. E.) from Tuxford. This parish, which is bounded on the east by the river Trent. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.[1]
