The information in this list of Missouri Military Units comes from the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors web site (CWSS). That web site can also be searched by the name of a soldier.

All 7th Units[edit | edit source]

Units 8th and 9th[edit | edit source]

  • 8th Regiment, Missouri Cavalry - Confederate
    Mustered in late in 1862 with men who had served in the Missouri State Guard. It was assigned to J.C. Porter's, C. Greene's, and J.B. Clark's Brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. Mustered out prior to the surrender in June, 1865.
  • 8th Regiment, Missouri Infantry - Confederate
    Mustered in September, 1862. 8th (Burns') Infantry Regiment, formerly Hunter's 2nd Regiment.   The unit served in General Parson's Brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. Later was redesignated the 11th Missouri Regiment.
  • 9th Battalion, Missouri Sharpshooters - Confederate
    Mustered during the winter of 1862-1863 with two companies, later increased to five. The men were recruited from Missouri units in the field. It was assigned to Parson's and S.P. Burns' Brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. During the spring of 1865it disbanded.
