Mcgee County, Kansas was organized in August 25,1855, never organized and was defunct by February 18, 1860. Kansas Historical Society

Mcgee County may have be named for Mabillon W. McGee (born 1818), a member of the Kansas house of representatives in 1855. Kansas Historical Society

Mcgee County in 1860, became Crawford and Cherokee Counties .
