Organized at Camp Cameron August 27, 1861. Left State for Washington, D. C., October 3.
Mustered out October 19, 1864, expiration of term.

Left State with 5th Massachusetts Volunteer Militia April 21, 1861, for Fortress Monroe, Virginia. Mustered into United States service May 18, 1861, for three months.
Had duty at various locations. Final duty at Camp Clare, near Baltimore, Maryland, and in Monument Square until August, and mustered out August 2, 1861.
