The information in the lists of Louisiana Military Units comes from the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors web site. That web site also can be searched by the name of a soldier. Information also found in Arthur W. Beregeron, Jr.'s Guide to Louisiana Confederate Military Units 1861-1865. [1]

Units P[edit | edit source]

  • Pointe Coupee Artillery, Louisiana (Confederate)
    Organized in November, 1861 with three companies. Consolidated into one company. It then joined the Army of Tennessee and was active in the Atlanta, Tennessee, and North Carolina Campaigns. Less than 25 men it surrendered on April 26, 1865.

Units U through Z[edit | edit source]

  • Washington Battalion, Louisiana Artillery (Confederate)
     Organized in 1838 and fought in the Mexican War. It then was known as the "Native American" Battery. Reogranized in 1852 as the Washington Artillery.Mustered into Confederate service on May 26, 1861 with five companies. A small number surrendered at West Point, Georgia, in mid-April, 1865.
