Llanrhydd is a village and ecclesiastical parish in Denbighshire, Wales.

Before 1974 the village was in the historic county of Denbighshire and, between 1874 and 1996 in the County of Clwyd, Wales Genealogy. In 1996 it became part of the modern county of Denbighshire.

History[edit | edit source]

"LLANRHUDD {LLAN-RHUDD), a parish partly within the limits of the borough, and partly in the hundred of Ruthin, county of Denbigh, 1 mile (E.) from Ruthin. The village is pleasantly situated in a fertile vale near the Clwydian mountains, and the neighbourhood abounds with pleasing and finely varied scenery. That portion of the parish called the township of Llanrhudd Uchav is comprised within the limits of the contributory borough of Ruthin. ... The church, dedicated to St. Meugan, is a small ancient edifice, forming a picturesque object in the vale. ... There is a place of worship for Calvinistic Methodists."
